The Student Support Services program will continue to be a fee for service program, but we will also be teaming with Learning Matters to provide the St. Anne School community with a cutting-edge “brain-training” program which will include a multifaceted cognitive abilities test and a training center with three essential components including a balance and movement training lab, a listening program, & an individualized learning program designed to strengthen all children’s learning abilities, whether gifted, struggling, or somewhere in between. The St. Anne School Student Services Department assists students in improving their academic and study skills through individual 1:1 instruction/tutorials, inclusion and pull-out groups. The department provides assistance and guidance to the St. Anne School community including students that would benefit from psychological or academic testing, and helps to assist parents in finding specialists, in addition to the St. Anne staff, to meet their child's individual needs. Assistance may include cognitive and neurodevelopment training, psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and specific math and language programs. The Student Services Department consists of a Director and a staff of three teachers assisting Kindergarten through Eighth Grade students. It offers modifications and services designed to help those students who require more attention and more challenges. One example of this is the testing modification that is available to students who have been identified with a learning disability. Students enrolled in the program and others who have been diagnosed with learning challenges may take subject area tests as well as standardized tests such as the CTP4 test in the Student Services Department. The Director works in collaboration with the Principals, Director of Curriculum and individual teachers in coordinating the John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and various summer programs offered to St. Anne students.

This school year has been a successful and innovative one, reflecting strong professional growth and enthusiastic teacher and parent support.  We look forward to further development and expansion of our Student Support Services Department, as we strive to constantly improve upon our ability to meet the special needs of all of our St. Anne students.
