In addition to monthly meetings where the Brownies were able to get creative with numerous crafts, highlights of this school year included many field trips where the students earned badges as a reminder and symbol of their experiences and accomplishments. These included a cooking class; singing at a senior citizen home; an overnight trip to the beach; selling delicious Girl Scout cookies; spending the night at Sea World in the turtle habitat; attending Girl Scouts Night at Angels Stadium and marching around the field; going to the theater and learning about happenings behind the scenes; and volunteering at a children’s foster home.

Not only did the girls have a great time, but their experiences also gave them close friendships, the chance to learn group dynamics, become entrepreneurs, and discover their independence.

Girl Scout Leader Lainey Orona said, “We are excited for the many new adventures next school year will bring to our Brownie troop. We are recruiting for second and third graders to join the fun!”
