On Friday, July 17, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom ordered that all public and private schools residing in any California county that is on the “watch list” must begin the school year with distance learning. Along with this mandate were a set of re-entry guidelines for schools when they do return to campus for in-person learning. Be assured that our re-entry plans align with these new state orders. We understand that your family may have a variety of pressing questions regarding St. Anne School’s plan for returning to school in August. We hope you find the following information regarding re-entry and distance learning helpful as you plan with your family to return to school.
St. Anne School is applying for a waiver from the Governor’s office
St. Anne School has developed a re-entry plan designed with the health, safety, and welfare of the community in mind guided by the local and state health agencies, for when we return to in-person instruction. We are applying for a waiver to allow the lower school (K-5) to return to in-person instruction. Due to state regulations, middle schools and high schools that reside in these watch list counties must begin the year with distance learning and are not eligible for a waiver from the state. We are optimistic that the strength of our re-entry plan will grant us a waiver for the lower school to return to in-person instruction. We will keep you apprised of our progress as we pursue this waiver.
Re-Entry for In-Person Instruction
Once the county criteria is met, we will return to in-person instruction for all grades (K-8). While there is no way of predicting when we will return to all-school, in-person instruction, we remain hopeful that it will be close to our opening date in late August. Please review the St. Anne School Re-entry Plan, Re-uknighted and Better Together below, to prepare your family for returning to in-person instruction when given clearance by the county to do so. For more information on our 2020-2021 Re-entry Plan please click on the PDF document on the right side of this webpage.
St. Anne School is excited to announce our dynamic livestream learning initiative, Knights Live!. We have outfitted our K-8 classrooms with new technology that will allow our faculty to provide a dynamic, real-time, distance learning experience for our Knights. We developed Knights Live! with three principles in mind:
CONNECT | CONTRIBUTE | CREATE
These principles will shape the livestream experience for St. Anne students. For more information about Knights Live!, please review the document below. More information about Knights Live! can be found in the PDF document on the right side of this webpage.
In closing, our priority continues to be the safe return of our students, faculty, and staff to campus five days a week for the 2020-2021 school year. We know our families want their children back on campus this fall. As soon as we get the green light to begin all-school, in-person learning, we will immediately return following our Re-Entry Plan. We are living in a time where we need community more than ever. St. Anne School’s Re-entry Plan and the Knights Live! initiative were developed with this fundamental need in mind.
St. Anne, pray for us.
